Two Australian Army CH 47d Chinook helicopters touched down at Geraldton Airport about 11.30am today for a routine fuel stop on their way to Perth.

Family and select members of the public were on hand to view the aircraft.

Australian and United states army personnel were on board the two aircraft.

The helicopters are due to be phased out in 2015 with newer, replacement models.
