Scibase Announces Exclusive Distribution Agreement for Great Britain With Globe Skincare

STOCKHOLM, SWEWDEN--(Marketwired - Sept. 3, 2014) - SciBase, a leader in skin cancer detection technology with its unique point-of-care device Nevisense, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Globe Skincare Ltd to distribute Nevisense in Great Britain. UK- based Globe Skincare is a leading distributor of skin care and analysis products to the dermatological community across Great Britain.

Nevisense is an important new tool for the detection of malignant melanoma, the most fatal form of skin cancer. The ability of Nevisense to accurately detect melanoma has been proven in the world's largest prospective study of its kind, published earlier this year in the British Journal of Dermatology. Nevisense has already attracted widespread interest as the first non-visual melanoma detection system, using Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to objectively analyse lesions with suspicion of melanoma and will now also be introduced to the UK market in conjunction with World Congress on Cancers of the Skin (WCCS) conference held in Edinburgh on September 3-6.

About Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world, accounting for nearly half of all cancers. Malignant melanoma is the most fatal form of skin cancer causing the majority (75%) of deaths related to skin cancer. Around 13,300 cases of malignant melanoma were diagnosed in 2011 in the UK. Malignant melanoma incidence rates in the UK have increased more than fivefold since the mid 1970s, increasing more rapidly than any of the current ten most common cancers in males and females.
