KMSS wants Gogoito be probed in case
Guwahati: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has its trained guns on chief minister Tarun Gogoi and has resolved to press the CBI to bring the CM within the ambit of the investigation into the multi-crore Saradha chit-fund scam.
Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, KMSS president Akhil Gogoi said being the CM, Gogoi should be blamed for the scam, which thrived in the state and people lost crores in cash.
He alleged that the then health minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, was also involved.
“Tarun Gogoi was the CM, finance minister and home minister of Assam when the dubious companies were looting the people. In the next two-three days, we will sent a memorandum to the CBI demanding the probe agency to bring the CM within its purview,” said Akhil.
Many senior police officials were involved in shielding the agents and officials of Saradha group in the state, he said and added that those officials should be punished.
“It is the state government’s duty to return the people money they have lost to the fraud companies,” Akhil added.
He announced that KMSS would soon launch a movement demanding actions against all those involved in the scam.
