Fish in the Dark,” the new play written by and starring Larry David, has lined up its Broadway dates, theater and initial casting, tapping actors including Rosie Perez, Jayne Houdyshell (“Well,” “Follies”) and Jonny Orsini (“The Nance”).

Jake Cannavale, the young thesp (“Nurse Jackie”) who is Bobby Cannavale’s son, and veteran character actor Jerry Adler (“The Sopranos,” “Manhattan Murder Mystery”) also appear alongside David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) in the comedy, which revolves around a death in the family. The previously announced Anna D. Shapiro (“This Is Our Youth,” “Of Mice and Men”) directs.

Perez’s most recent Broadway outing was the 2007 production of Terrence McNally’s “The Ritz.” Other Main Stem credits include “Reckless” and “Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.”

Produced by Scott Rudin (“The Book of Mormon,” “A Raisin in the Sun,” “Betrayal”), “Fish in the Dark” swims into the Cort Theater for a run that begins previews Feb. 2 prior to a March 5 opening. The Cort’s current occupant — “This Is Our Youth” starring Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin and Tavi Gevinson — also is produced by Rudin and helmed by Shapiro, in a run currently set to end in January.

The creative team of “Fish in the Dark” includes Todd Rosenthal (sets), Ann Roth (costumes) and Brian MacDevitt (lights), all three of whom are also on board “This Is Our Youth.” Further casting remains to set.
