With Amdawadi theatres reliving various subjects on the stage and entertaining masses, Rajoo Barot’s upcoming play, ‘Socrates’ willrelive the Greek era on the stage and bring the real essence of that era. Citing more details Rajoo says, “The play, ‘Socrates’ is adapted from
Manubhai Pancholi’s "Darshak" novel of the same name. The play deals with the ideology, values and ethos of Socrates and how can they are related to the present times forms the crux of the lay.
However we are trying to make the entire play more edgier, crispier and sharper in terms of
language so that even the younger audeinces can easily relate to it. We have tried to relive the Greek era by bringing the essence and nuances of Greek era in terms of costumes, lights,
music and even the sets. Also the background music which is scored by Nitish Parekh has a lot of Greek influences.”
