3. WHO DIED IN ERIE PLANE CRASH

Pilot Oliver Frascona, his girlfriend and her three children were identified Monday as the victims in the Erie plane crash that killed all on board. ” He was as close as our industry would ever get to a celebrity in the business,” Chris Mygatt, president of Coldwell Banker Colorado, said.

4. C-470 CLOSED OVER REPORT OF GUNS

C-470 was closed for more than an hour Monday evening near West Ken Caryl Avenue as deputies and other law enforcement agencies sorted out a report of a situation, possibly involving guns. ” We don’t get a second chance to get this right,” Jacki Kelley, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said.

5. VINDICATION FOR COLORADO CHILD CASEWORKERS

Child protection caseworkers who try to prevent abuse and neglect were the least surprised last week when the state auditor announced that Colorado needs 574 more of them. It was vindication.

6. RICH VS. POOR DIET GAP IS EXPANDING

Americans’ eating habits have improved — except among the poor, evidence of a widening wealth gap when it comes to diet. Yet even among wealthier adults, food choices remain far from ideal, a 12-year study found.

7. INQUIRY INTO NUDE CELEBRITY PHOTO LEAKS

The FBI says it is addressing allegations that online accounts of several celebrities, including Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, had been hacked, leading to the posting of their nude photographs online.

8. EMILY DOES THE HEAVY LIFTING

Denver personal trainer Emily Schromm, recently chosen by Women’s Health magazine as the 2014 Next Fitness Star, is a latter-day Amazon. ” I want to be the paleo-weight-lifting Jillian Michaels. I want to bring people the truth about fitness and food,” she said.

9. SAY MY NAME

Colorado State coach Jim McElwain reacted Monday to Denver Mayor Michael Hancock’s post-game slip up. “I will say one thing,” he said. ” I do understand where we are on the food chain from a relevance standpoint because the mayor doesn’t even know my name.”

Linebacker Brandon Marshall’s rapid rise to season-opening starter comes as no surprise to the Broncos. Meanwhile, running back Montee Ball has his hero’s job. “It’s a dream come true, a blessing, because it’s been my goal since I was 8 years old,” Ball said.
