Montreal's having a ball with Kurt Perschke's creation

Brooklyn-based sculptor Kurt Perschke has been travelling the world for the past 10 years with a giant red ball. He’s been to Abu Dhabi, Taipei, Perth, Barcelona, Korea, Portland and Sydney among others.

This week, he’s squeezing the inflatable RedBall into nooks and crannies in Project Tour: Montreal.

Kids say the five-metre high vinyl ball looks like a giant tomato. Grown-ups say it makes the city fun to explore.

Perschke created the RedBall Project to get people to look on their city with fresh eyes.

Listen to my conversation with Kurt Perschke recorded on the terrace of Place des Arts on Labour Day.

Follow the Red Ball on Twitter #RedBallProject and send us your photos with the hashtag #CBCMTL.
