Hyundai looking to enter compact SUV market with ix25

South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will be launching a compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) soon to take on the likes of Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport. The vehicle, called the ix25, has been spotted testing across India on numerous occasions. Exteriors

Design cues appear to have been taken from various Hyundai SUVs such as the ix35 and the new Santa Fe. Its production model will look quite different from the ix25 Concept showcased at the Auto China 201.

Ix25, Hyundai's new compact SUV will be just over 4-metres in length and will take on the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano here.

Engines

The new ix25 will be available in both petrol and diesel options. While the petrol version will be a 1.4-litre VTVT, the diesel will come with a 1.6-litre CRDi. Maximum power and peak torque are as follows:
