There’s good news on the horizon for anyone willing to spend a quarter-million on a luxury SUV and half again as much in fuel: the G65 AMG will finally breach U.S. borders.

According to Automotive News, Mercedes-Benz is planning to offer its biturbo V12 version of the G Wagen to North American buyers starting in the 2016 model year. With 604 hp and a top speed limited to 143 MPH, the uber SUV will cost roughly $250,000 when it arrives here. Previously, North Americans were restricted to owning the already monstrous G63 AMG, which uses a 5.5-liter V8 that makes 536 hp and for comparison, starts at $136,625.

A Mercedes-Benz spokesman was unavailable to comment on the report at the time this was published.
