James Franco’s "The Sound and the Fury" novel adaptation clip (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - James Franco's adaptation of William Faulkner's novel "The Sound and the Fury" releases its first clip via Deadline. The scene is between Joey King and Scott Haze who feud over how the teenage girl dresses for school and how he's determined to rule her, AceShowbiz said.

Staying true to the book, "The Sound and the Fury" captures the lives and passions of the Compsons, a once proud Southern family caught in a tragic spiral of loss and misfortune. It encapsulates the universal theme of the death of honor, social injustice and forbidden love. Franco also stars in the movie, along with Seth Rogen, Jon Hamm, Tim Blake Nelson and Ahna O'Reilly.

The pic will have its world premiere out of competition at the Venice Film Festival after Franco is presented with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker prize for "an original contribution to innovation in contemporary cinema." The multi-tasking actor is to be recognized for his work as "a relentless 'manufacturer' of cultural imagery."

Franco has been on the Lido many times before to present "Spring Breakers" and "Palo Alto (2014)" among others. "I feel like it's a place that's familiar to me," the 36-year-old said. "I love it there. For me, it's a place where I can take a more serious artistic endeavor and have it received in a more serious way. I don't have to deal with people looking through filters of my other work."
