The BJP, VHP, Hindu Jagran Manch and Shiv Sena activists barged into the women police station and the Civil Lines police station, where they ransacked shelves and furniture. They demanded that the girl be allowed to return to her parent and also sought 'justice on the spot' for the crime committed by Parvez.

"The police are mounting pressure on my daughter to remain quiet about her forced conversion. But the fact is Parvez and his family members had taken her to Nepal to sell her soon after her conversion," the girl's father alleged. "Even after 24 hours of the rescue, the police are not allowing our daughter to be with us because of pressure from the Samajwadi Party government. We will set ourselves ablaze if she is not allowed to be with us," he threatened.

A local VHP leader claimed the Uttar Pradesh government's interference was palpable as the police were playing a good host to Parvez. "The government is not ready to hear the plight of a minor girl who was raped and taken for conversion. The father of the girl has also said that Parvez wanted to sell off his daughter to someone in Nepal," the VHP leader alleged.

The police, however, maintained that the BJP and other activists were posing hurdles in the case. "We will be taking the girl for medical examination
before recording her statement under Section 164 of the IPC before a magistrate," police officer Madhu Sharma said.

Circle Office Sanjeev Bajpai added that the two police stations were directed to book the culprits involved in the rampage on Sunday night. After the girl had eloped with Parvez, the police had arrested Shubham Kumar, the owner of a car in which Parvez had brought the girl to his house in Laddawala locality, on August 28.

Shubham's friends Abhishek Singh and Arpit Kumar were also detained. Shubham claimed that Parvez had requested him to give the car to take his ailing mother to hospital.

Earlier, the girl's father had said that Parvez was in touch with his daughter for quite some time. He had also accused Parveen of brainwashing his daughter.
