India's neighboring country Nepal is getting a few vehicles from here, one of which is already available. Toyota Etios Liva will be launched by the first week of August 2014 and United Traders Syndicate, the authorized distributors of Toyota cars in Nepal, will bring out the vehicle. At present, Sipradi Trading, the authorized Tata Motors distributor in Nepal, has already launched Tata Movus at a price of 3.18 million NPR (Rs 19.82 lakh).

While Etios Liva is available with three engine options in India (1.2L petrol, 1.5L petrol and 1.4L diesel), only the 1.2 L petrol will be sold in Nepal. This unit generates a power of 79 bhp at and 104 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. As per the Nepalee Rupee, the Liva there will cost 3.3 million NPR (Rs 20.62 lakh).


On the other hand, Tata Movus, an improved and repositioned Sumo Grande, is available in Nepal with seating options for seven, eight and nine occupants.Power is from the 2.2-liter four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine which generates maximum power of 118.3 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is, in turn, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Among the list of mechanical improvements over the Sumo Grande, Tata say they have fitted it with a new rack and pinion steering and a new 260 mm diameter concentric sleeve cylinder with a self-actuating clutch for longer life. In terms of features, the Movus comes with power steering, AC, reverse guide sensor, tilt adjust steering and central locking. The SUV is offered with a warranty of two years or 75,000 km in Nepal, and is available in two body colors.
