Fulham have signed striker Matt Smith from Leeds United on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old’s deal also includes the option of a further year and he will renew his partnership with former Leeds striker Ross McCormack at Craven Cottage.

Smith, who only signed a new three-year contract at Elland Road last month, joined Leeds on a free transfer from Oldham Athletic last summer.

He departs the Yorkshire club after scoring 13 goals in 43 appearances for them.

Fulham had also been hoping to sign former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford from Bolton before the transfer deadline, but that deal appears to have fallen through.

Cardiff centre-back Mark Hudson was another target for the Cottagers but he has moved to Huddersfield Town on a two-year contract.
