JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Platinum mining company Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) on Monday announced that its COO Nico Muller would resign from the company and board of directors, effective October 1.

“Nico played a pivotal role within the organisation and was instrumental in the development, stability and progress of the operations, as well as ensuring the advancement of the Styldrift project,” RBPlat noted in a statement.

The company added that the operational management structure of the group had been considered and, consequently, current projects and engineering head Neil Carr would be appointed executive head of operations when Muller’s resignation was effective.

Further, Bafokeng Rasimone Platinum Mines (BRPM) GM Glenn Harris would assume the role of head of operations for the BRPM and the Styldrift project, collectively known as the BRPM Joint Venture.
