League One outfit Barnsley have extended the loan signing of Hull defender Joe Dudgeon until January.

The 23-year-old left-back arrived at Oakwell on an initial month-long deal at the start of the season and has started in all five of the Reds' league games.

"It's a great bonus for us," manager Danny Wilson told the club's official website.

"He's a little warrior and a tremendous young player. I'm delighted he's staying on."

Dudgeon progressed through Manchester United's academy and, after a loan spell at Carlisle, signed a permanent deal with Hull in May 2011.

He has made a total of 29 appearances for Steve Bruce's side.
