Knifeman kills 3 at school

A knife-wielding man committed suicide after killing three people and injuring another six at a primary school in Hubei province on the first day back from the summer vacation on Monday, the local authority said.

The man, identified as Chen Yanfu, jumped to his death from a building after stabbing a teacher and eight students at about 10:20 am at Dongfang Primary School in Yunxi county.

Three students died after being taken to a hospital, according to the government in Shiyan, which administers the county.

Some netizens said Chen had failed to enroll his girl at the school, but this information could not be confirmed.

The case is being investigated.
