Rugby star Rob Kearney hits out at reports he 'kissed' MTV's Laura Whitmore

The pair were spotted hanging out at the festival in Stradbally on Saturday, and they even joined the 70s disco band Chic on stage.

Chic frontman Nile Rodgers invited around 30 festival goers, including Whitmore (28) and Kearney (27) to dance on stage with them.

Several reports hinted they were flirting, but Rob took umbrage at one particular report which stated they had kissed.

The Irish Mirror reported, "Single and ready to mingle MTV star Laura was spotted enjoying a sneaky snog with rugby hero Rob.

"The pair were smooching back stage and were later joined by Laura’s pal, RTE presenter Eoghan McDermott."

However, Rob refuted the claims, tweeting, "@Demelzadeburca inaccurate and totally untrue article you've written. As a result I'll never do another sports interview with your paper!"

The pair have been friends for a while, with Rob recently nominating Laura to do the Ice Bucket challenge.  He tweeted, "Thanks @JohnboyEnnis for the nomination, my picks are @_kanedoug @thewhitmore and @PatKennyNT #24hrs"

Last year, the Laura attended the festival to support then-boyfriend, rocker Miles Kane. But this year the star is single. Her ex, Paolo Nutini, headlined the main stage on Saturday. Laura has also been linked to Love/Hate star, Killian Scott.

Leinster star Rob is also single after splitting from actress Susie Amy last December.
