WP win the match, lose the war

Cape Town - WP may have won their Currie Cup match against the Blue Bulls at Loftus Versfeld, but they lost the war...

QUIZ: Tackle Sport24's virtually impossible yet highly addictive quiz!

Allister Coetzee's men picked up four points after a pulsating, yet bruising, encounter 23-18, to entrench their spot atop the standings after four matches of the season.

But the men from the Cape were nursing battered and aching bodies on Sunday morning.

Front rower Pat Cilliers tweeted a picture of a number of stitches above his right eye, alongside flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis, sporting a black eye and a nasty cut above his left eye.

Meanwhile, in the curtain raiser to the Blue Bulls v WP match, WP Under-21 lock JD Schickerling narrowly escaped paralysis after breaking his neck against their Blue Bulls counterparts.
