Probably excited by the Xiaomi's overwhelming success in India, another Chinese start-up firm, OnePlus is eagerly prepping to set up a business house in the subcontinent.

He said the popularity of OnePlus One in India is well-documented. According to statistics available with the company, number of India-based billing addresses for One's trans-shipment services is surging like clockwork and looks promising. In that order, the company plans to set up a small team in India and has already begun the hiring process for General Manager to head the India operations so that the after-sales service, which is the Indian consumers' main concern can be taken care of.

Meanwhile, OnePlus has initiated talks with local e-retailers to forge exclusive alliance to sell smartphone online, just like Xiaomi and Motorola did with Flipkart. However, OnePlus is yet to confirm as to when the new One smartphone will be made available in the country.

The news comes just days after rival, Xiaomi too confirmed to have a similar game plan to set up R & D centre in Bangalore so that Xiaomi can build and design smartphones specific to India. [Read full report, here]
