Double Fine Productions has just released the first developer diary video for the upcoming remaster of the cult adventure classic Grim Fandango, headed for the time being for the PlayStation 4.

The video explains what fans of the adventure game can expect from the remastered title, the kind of improvements that Double Fine intends to add to Grim Fandango, which will be rendered in 1080p resolution.

In addition to this, the video also offers us the first glimpse of Grim Fandango running on Sony's newest computer entertainment system, the PlayStation 4, which you can find in the video below at around the 3:15 mark.

The game will run in full 1080p resolution, and in addition to the bump in pixel count, Grim Fandango will also get brand new 3D models and lighting, as well as (possibly) some other post-processing effects, meant to make the adventure title look a bit more sparkly.

The developers talk about the development process and how various aspects of the original design are translated into the remastered version of the game, with Tim Schafer, the mastermind behind the original game, saying that he wants to preserve the aspect ratio of the old adventure, following the way the original storyboards were put together.
