EPL Results and Review: Chelsea and Liverpool Triumph, Arsenal and Manchester United Draw, While Man City Lose

Chelsea and Liverpool registered impressive wins against Everton and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, while Manchester United and Arsenal drew and Manchester City lost in this weekend's round of Premier League fixtures.

Below is a quick look at all ten matches with results.

Burnley 0-0 Manchester United

The Red Devils again failed to impress as they were held in a goalless draw by the newly-promoted Burnley.

Following a humiliating 4-0 drubbing at the hands of League One side MK Dons, the Red Devils were expected to bounce back in this game especially after the addition of Angel Di Maria to the squad.

However, the Red Devils were mediocre, as they were only able to create seven chances in the whole game.

Apart from a couple of efforts from Robin van Persie, the Red Devils failed to cause problems to the Clarets defence.

On the Contrary, Burnley were far more impressive as they forced a number of impressive saves from David de Gea.

Manchester City 0-1 Stoke City

Manchester City suffered a shock defeat at the Etihad Stadium at the hands of Stoke City courtesy a second half strike from Mame Biram Diouf.

Despite the Citizens dominating possession, they failed to make headway due to their poor finishing.

Apart from Yaya Toure hitting the woodwork just before the break, City were not that threatening as they only managed two shots from a total of 16 attempts on target.

Diouf broke the deadlock in the 58^th minute and the strike proved enough as the Citizens were unable to find their way back into the game.

Newcastle United 3-3 Crystal Palace

There was no shortage of goals at St James' Park as Crystal Palace grabbed a last-minute equaliser to deny Newcastle their first win in the Premier League this season.

The Eagles got off to a flying start as Dwight Gayle broke the deadlock in only 30 seconds, but Daryl Janmaat equalised for the Magpies in the 37^th minute.

Jason Puncheon again put his side ahead in the 48^th minute, but his strike was cancelled out by Rolando Aarons in the 73^rd minute.

Finally just when it looked like the Magpies had grabbed the winner through Michael Williamson in the 88^th minute, Wilfred Zaha, on loan from Manchester United, scored in the fifth minute of added time to salvage a point for his side.

Queens Park Rangers 1-0 Sunderland

QPR narrowly beat Sunderland to register their first Premier League win of the season courtesy of a late first half strike from Charlie Austin.

Following a demoralising 4-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham in the last fixture, the Hoops were certainly not the favourites in this game against the Black Cats.

However, Harry Redknapp's side's determination coupled with Sunderland's failure to convert their chances early on in the game gave QPR their first three points of the season.

West Ham 1-3 Southampton

Southampton finally looked like the team they were under Mauricio Pochettino last season as they registered a comfortable win over West Ham at Upton Park.

The Hammers' early 27^th minute strike through Mark Noble proved to be just a consolation as a brace from Morgan Schneiderlin coupled with a late strike from Graziano Pellè earned the Saints their first Premier League win of the season.

Everton 3-6 Chelsea

It was raining goals at Goodison Park as Chelsea triumphed over a very determined Everton side in a nine-goal thriller.

Diego Costa opened the scoring after only 35 seconds, before Branislav Ivanovic doubled the Blues lead in the 3^rd minute. Kevin Mirallas pulled a goal back in the 45^th minute, but an own goal from Seamus Coleman put Chelsea further in front.

Steven Naismith kept the Toffees hopes alive by pulling another one back in the 69^th minute, but Nemanja Matic again widened the deficit in the 74th minute.

Samuel Eto'o them made the score 4-3, but two late strikes from Ramires and Costa put the game to bed, sending Chelsea to the top of the Premier League.

Aston Villa 2-1 Hull City

Villa continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League following a narrow win over Hull City at Villa Park.

First half strikes from Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann proved to be enough as the Tigers were only able to grab a second-half consolation through Nikica Jelavic.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 Liverpool

Tottenham's poor record against Liverpool continued as the Spurs again crumbled to a far from impressive defeat to the Reds at White Hart Lane.

Following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City, Brendan Rodgers side made a brilliant start against Spurs as Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after only eight minutes.

Steven Gerrard doubled Liverpool's lead in the 49^th minute through a penalty before a brilliant solo goal from new signing Alberto Moreno in the 60^th minute finished off Spurs.

Leicester City 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal failed to make chances count as they stumbled to a 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The Gunners broke the deadlock through new signing Alexis Sanchez in the 20^th minute, but the Foxes gave an immediate response as Leonardo Ulloa levelled the scores two minutes later.

Although Arsenal put heavy pressure on the Leicester defence, the newly-promoted side managed to hold on and pick up a deserved point.
