QC police killed in ambush

Novaliches-QCMANILA, Philippines–A ranking Quezon City Police District (QCPD) ‎policeman was shot while inside his car by still unidentified assailants on Monday morning on Zabarte Road in Novaliches.

Senior Inspector Roderick Medrano, assigned at Novaliches Police Station 4, was shot and wounded by three gunmen on two motorcycles at 7 a.m., Senior Inspector Maricar Taqueban, QCPD spokesperson, said in a text message to INQUIRER.net.

Taqueban said that an hour after the shooting, Medrano was pronounced dead in the hospital.

‎Media reports said Medrano’s wife and two children, who were also inside the car, were unharmed.
