SIBU: Brooke Drive Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT)’s inaugural free health screening programme at Sibu Civic Centre recently was well received.

Its chairperson Melinda Wong said more than 200 people were waiting outside the civic centre as early as 7am.

“We plan to hold it again next year due to the good response.”

The three-hour programme from 8am offered checks body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, glaucoma, and medical consultation.

Wong said the event was also meant to foster racial unity and harmony as it was opened to everyone.

Jalur Gemilang were also distributed for the public to show their patriotism for the country, she said.

Present was National Unity and Integration Department Sibu officer Susan Benet.
