Cote d'Ivoire striker Salomon Kalou has moved from French Ligue 1 club Lille to Bundesliga's Hertha Berlin on Sunday, just a day ahead of the summer transfer window's closed.
No financial details have been released for the 29-year-old former Chelsea forward.
"Kalou is a top striker," said Hertha general manager Michael Preetz. "He has proved his class in the Premier League, Champions League and with his national team. We're very happy to have him with us."
Having scored 30 goals in 67 league appearances for Lille in two years, Kalou is expected to replace Colombian striker Adrian Ramos, who recently moved to anther German club Borussia Dortmund.
Kalou began his career with Dutch side Feyenoord before switching in 2006 to Chelsea, where he scored 60 goals in 251 games and won the Champions League with the English Premier team.
He capped 67 for his national team and has 23 goals. Endi
