Bordeaux's impressive 100 per cent start to the season came to an end on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Bastia at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Junior Tallo's first-half strike, his second of the campaign, seemed like giving Claude Makelele's men their second consecutive 1-0 Ligue 1 win before Diego Rolan broke Corsican hearts with little over 10 minutes left.

The hosts began the brighter but almost gifted Bastia an opening goal when Cedric Carrasso cleared straight to Christopher Maboulou, who could only send a lobbed effort wide of the target from outside the area.

However, that only served as a warning and Makelele's men found themselves in front on 18 minutes.

Drissa Diakite's hopeful cross found Floyd Ayite but, despite getting his header all wrong, the ball fell at the feet of Tallo who made no mistake, firing beyond Carrasso.

Bordeaux looked to hit back immediately but Wahbi Khazri fizzed a ball past Alphonse Areola's post after linking up well with Julien Faubert.

Khazri continued to look lively but could only fire over the bar direct from a free-kick before the Tunisian tested Areola from 25 yards as the interval approached.

Bordeaux did have the ball in the back of the net in stunning fashion shortly after the break but the linesman's flag went up.

Gregory Sertic picked out Emiliano Sala and the Argentinian showed great skill to control before sending a thunderous half-volley into the top corner, only for his joy to be short-lived.

Les Girondins continued to dominate and Khazri thought he had levelled after meeting Mariano's cross with a powerful first-time effort but, with the aid of a slight Sebastien Squillaci deflection, the ball shaved the outside of Areola's post.

Relying on the counter, Bastia almost doubled their lead when Ayite rounded Carrasso only to see his goalbound effort turned onto the bar by Nicolas Pallois.

However, as the final 10 minutes approached, Willy Sagnol's team got the reward their endeavour deserved.

Not for the first time, Mariano found a team mate inside the area and, this time, Rolan took full advantage with a neat control and turn before finishing to grab a deserved point for the Ligue 1 leaders.

The hosts did have chance to nick all three points late on but for some heroics in goal from Paris St Germain loanee Areola who denied Enzo Crivelli and Sertic in added time.
