Bangalore Ganesh Utsava starts on a splendid note
BANGALORE: The 52nd Bangalore Ganesh Utsava, the city's most awaited Ganesh Chaturti celebrations started off on a splendid note at the APS College Grounds on Friday. The first evening of the festival opened to a ground full of fans and an enchanting performance of music maestro Kadri Gopalnath. He was well supported by music couple V Umesh and Usha Umesh.
The evening started with Usha Umesh singing some light music and other famous filmy numbers with her husband and guide, the famous keyboard player supporting her.
The couple held the crowds mesmerized for more than an hour.
After the melodious performance from the musical couple, it was time for the Saxophone Chakravarthy to take the fervor to an even higher level. The music legend captivated the audiences with his performance, which made the unusual instrument sound so suited to carnatic music. Starting with a prayer on Lord Ganesha, the music virtuoso went on to perform a few other classical and devotional tracks. At the end of his recital, which lasted for more than an hour, the crowds were visibly mystified by the evening’s performances and were left asking for more.
Speaking at the Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava, Padma Shri awardee Kadri Gopalnath said, "I am very happy to be part of this festival and play my music on such an auspicious day. I commend the work done by the organizers of Bangalore Ganesh Utsava and wish all Bangaloreans a very happy Ganesh Charurti".
