‘Lok-Samvad Setu’ has made government machinery pro-active: CM at Navsari

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel today ascertained that the ‘Lok-Samvad Setu’ has been successful in resolving the people’s problem on the spot and made the administration pro-active.

The Chief Minister said the state government is determined to set up an ideal situation at the local level (on the spot) whereby the aggrieved applicant does not need to come at district or state level to get his/her problems resolved.

The Lok Samvad Setu programme, held in the presence of Smt. Patel at Navsari city in South-Gujarat, had successfully resolved 153 cases with the pro-active approach shown by the concerned departments.

The Chief Minister said, so far in total nearly 69 Lok-Samvad Setu programmes were held across the state. They have achieved success ratio of 87 % by resolving total 6588 cases at the local level.

Smt. Patel said the Revenue Department has undertaken a drive to resolve over 1-lakh pending cases of hereditary. She appealed to the administration to adopt humanly sensitivity in resolving such cases to build a cultural society.

Smt. Patel said her pledge to build ‘in-house toilet’ in each home will surely be a reality as the women officials have provided in-house toilet facility to as many as 506 families in just one-day in Navsari district and members of Gramin Women Power committees and Women sarpanch of the district have taken a pledge to provide in-house toilet facilities to remaining 3398 deprived families.

The Chief Minister said, the Prime Minister’s Jan-Dhan Yojna will surely unshackled the poor and needy from the iron-grip of private money lenders as this scheme will put their welfare benefits directly in their own hands through personal banking transactions.
Under this ‘Jan-Dhan Yojna’ over 86-lakh new bank accounts were opened in Gujarat, so far, and in this priority was given to women power, she added.

The Chief Minister had also honoured five women sarpanches with certification for attaining 100 % ‘in-house toilet’ facility in each house of their respectively village.

On the occasion, district level 25-women officials took a pledge to provide in-house toilet facility in every house of the villages falling under their jurisdictions.

Others who attended the function included, district collector Shri Remya Mohan, Member of Parliament (Navsari) Mr. C R Patil, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) – Mr. R C Patel, Mr. Piyush Desai, district panchayat president Mr. Surendrabhai Patel, Nagarpalika President and others.
