Vadodara, 31 August 2014
Chinese authority seized memory cards from our cameras and never returned them, said Vinayakbhai Thakkar who returned from Kailash Mansarovar yatra.
65-year-old Vinayakbhai who lives in Vadodara is employee in collector office. He said he was part of a group of 55 Indian pilgrims to Mansarovar. 5 of them were dropped from the group as they were medically unfit. 11 of the group were from Gujarat.
He said the government of India provided needed support but when we entered into China, we had to submit our memory cards of cameras. Later we bought new memory cards and started photography, but when Chinese officials saw that, they forced us to delet all photographs taken in our camera. Not only that but they seized our memory cards. They promised that memory cards will be returned once we come back, but they didn’t keep their promise.
He said while Indian government was very much supporting, we faced rough behavior from Chinese authorities during 22-day long yatra.
