Man beheaded to appease deity in Mandla, 2 arrested

In an apparent case of human sacrifice, a man was beheaded to propitiate a deity in Mandla district.Two persons allegedly beheaded Indra Kumar Jharia at a Kali temple on Saturday.Both the accused have been arrested.

BHOPAL: In an apparent case of human sacrifice, a man was beheaded to propitiate a deity in Mandla district. Two persons allegedly beheaded Indra Kumar Jharia at a Kali temple on Saturday. Both the accused have been arrested.
Incident took place at Pipal Dahi village some 3 kms from Sarahi village of Jabalpur district the native village of Kumar. Beheaded body of Indra Kumar, 30, was found in the temple premises.
Superintendent of police Mandla, Gaurav Rajput said, "Prima facie it appears to be a case of human sacrifice, blood stains were found inside the temple also. We have arrested two persons and investigations are underway. Actual motive behind the murder could be ascertained only after investigations are over".
Police said the dead and the accused, a self-proclaimed tantrik Subodh Sharma, 55, resident of Orchha, in Tikamgarh and Veeru Jharia, 30, resident of Jabalpur, were always seen together.
"A case under section 302 has been registered against both," Rajput said.
Head of Indra Kumar was completely severed from his body, said police.
