Two days after monsoon revived in the state, the meteorological office on Saturday issued a warning of heavy rainfall in Bhopal, Indore and Hoshangabad divisions in the next 24 hours.

BHOPAL: Two days after monsoon revived in the state, the meteorological office on Saturday issued a warning of heavy rainfall in Bhopal, Indore and Hoshangabad divisions in the next 24 hours.
Officials pointed that two weather patterns prevailing over south Chhatisgarh and Rajasthan is causing rainfall in Madhya Pradesh. Moisture incursion from both the sides and repositioning of monsoon trough would lead to heavy showers at a few places, officials added.
A massive traffic jam was witnessed on the stretch connecting board office to Chetak Bridge. Officials of meteorological department, Bhopal circle pointed that a similar weather pattern would continue in Bhopal and many other cities.
A total of 5.6 mm rainfall was recorded in Bhopal between 8.30am to 6.30pm. Similarly, 90 mm of rain was recorded in Budhni, while Petlawad in Jhabua received 70 mm of rainfall. Vidisha received 60 mm of rainfall.
Despite heavy rainfall, temperature still remains a few notches above the normal mark. Maximum temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 31.0 (+2). Indore also recorded 31.0 (+3) while Gwalior and Jabalpur recorded 36.6 (+4) and 34.1 (+4) degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, minimum temperature in Bhopal was 23.4 (+1), Indore recorded 21.0 (-1), Gwalior 26.6 (+2) while Jabalpur recorded 25.0 (+1) degrees celsius.
