Soz takes up Leprosy Hospital issue with Taj

SRINAGAR, Aug 30:  PCC president and Rajya Sabha MP Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has taken up the issue of poor condition of Leprosy Hospital in Srinagar with the Minister Incharge Health and Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today.
Accompanied by senior Congress leaders  Moin-ul-Haq, Shameema Raina and Farooq Andrabi,  the PCC chief today paid visit to Leprosy Hospital at Lal Bazar in Srinagar. He was pained to see the condition of the hospital and realized that patients need much care and relief measures. He also talked to the concerned officers there and asked some queries. Prof Soz assured the patients that he would take up the issue at the appropriate level for improving the condition.
Expressing his displeasure, the PCC chief then took up the matter with the Minister Incharge Medical Education and Health and asked him to take urgent notice of deficiencies in the Leprosy hospital.  Prof Soz said that this only hospital in Kashmir was established by British Missionaries  in 1889 and now the hospital was really in bad shape. The PCC chief also thanked the State Housing Department for its commitment to complete the 31 Housing Units for Leprosy patients under RGAY Scheme and construction of 45 housing units more for such families. Later, he addressed a rally in the same area and claimed that Congress would emerge more strong in coming elections. He also sought public support for the party.
