Sky Bet have suspended betting on Radamel Falcao joining Real Madrid after the Monaco striker was backed at as short as 1/3 to make the switch before the transfer window closes.

The Colombia international had also been linked with Manchester City and Arsenal but it is the European champions who are expected to secure his services before Monday night’s deadline.

Monaco left the forward out of their squad for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Lille, further fuelling suggestions that he is in talks with Madrid.

The 28-year-old also appeared to delete a tweet about securing a move to Real Madrid, indicating it was a “dream come true” along with “#halamadrid”.

He later added on his account: "I have to deny a story about a Tweet I didn't do and which is a photo montage."

Sky Bet’s Jamie Munro said: “We had actually been seeing money on Manchester City throughout Saturday morning but a sudden U-turn in where the stakes were going saw Real Madrid’s price plummet, before we were eventually forced to suspend the market.

“His apparent Twitter activity and Monaco’s failure to include him in their squad certainly points to the move happening.”

Carlo Ancellotti has already added Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez to his UEFA Champions League-winning squad this summer.
