Some of the areas of Gujarat that witnessed showers today are Savarkundla Liliya, Dhari, Chalala, Jafrabad, Timbi, Bhuj, Gandhidham, Anjar, Ahmedabad. Hiran-2 dam in Gir Somnath district has received excellent inflow and water level has touched 444 ft mark. If inflow continues, the administration will release surplus water. In that case 13 villages are put on alert.

In a tragic incident, 5 women drowned in Dholidhaja dam water while 2 other were rescued. They had came to dam site to take bath on auspicious Rushi Pancham day.

In another incident, 4 persons died at Gingni village in Jamjodhpur due to lightening. Two of them are brothers while two others are father-son. Two women suffered burn injury and sent to hospital for medical care.
