For the first time in India, 3D printed AshtaVinayaka idols are being displayed at the Bangalore metro station’s 'Rangoli – Metro Art Centre'.
According to the organisers of this event, the display will be on till September 7.
Organised by Bangalore-based Altem Technologies, the 3D printed Ganesha consists of 8 idols, inspired by temples in Maharashtra such as Ashtavinayaka, Siddivinayaka, Dagdusheth Halwai and others.
Further, the installation spans 6 feet in height and 5 feet in width, and is an endeavor by Altem to create awareness about the possibilities of 3D printing among the public, according to company officials.
All the idols were created exclusively through professional 3D printers and the 3D printed models were created by 3D scanning the idols and then printed in Stratasys FDM (fused deposition modelling) and polyjet technology-based 3D printers, according to a company statement.
