NSF protests against unscheduled power cuts in JU

JAMMU, Aug 29: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged protest demonstration against Power Development Department (PDD) for unscheduled power curtailment in the University of Jammu for the last many days.
Around two dozen NSF activists assembled in front of Jammu University gate and started protest demonstration amid raising slogans against PDD Minister and demanding uninterrupted power supply in varsity.
Addressing the demonstration, NSF president Sukhdev Singh criticized the State Government for its failure to provide regular power supply in the varsity, particularly when the summer was at its peak.
“The power is playing hide and seek for the last many days, despite the fact that students have paid huge funds for getting the facility”, he said and alleged that the State Government didn’t care about the studies of students in Jammu province and also violated the Supreme Court guidelines, in which apex court had asked all the States to provide uninterrupted electricity to education institution from primary to varsity level.
Among those who were present in the protest included, Papinder Singh, Qayoom Malik, Ajaz Shah, Amit Sanotra, PP Singh, Rishikesh Rana, Balbinder Singh , Zulfi Singh, Joginder, Narinder Singh, Pawan Kumar, Sanjeev, Hari Kumar, Bhupinder Singh and others.
