CEC reviews preparation for class 10th, 12th board exams

LEH, Aug 29: Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar today convened review meeting regarding preparation of upcoming board exams in High and Higher Schools of Leh district.
Executive Councillors, Councillors, CEO, all ZEOs, Principals of all Higher Secondary and Headmasters of all High Schools were present during the meeting.
CEC took school wise review from the concerned head of institutions on the preparations going on for 10th and 12th class board exams and all the Principals and Headmasters informed the CEC that extra coaching and residential coaching has been started in their respective schools with the support of respective councillors. CEC also reviewed the action taken with regard to the minutes of the meeting held on June 17.
Putting stress on base of our education system CEC directed all present to make extra efforts to make our foundation level education strong at pre-primary, primary and middle levels.
Focusing on the problems of diminishing number of students in Government schools of the district and school drop-outs getting recruited in Indian Army at a very early age, CEC announced new schemes according to which a Government school student getting commissioned in Indian Army by clearing the National Defence Academy’s exam would be given a cash award of Rs one lakh and a Government school student securing distinction in 12th class and is inefficient of paying for higher studies will be given full scholarship.
He directed the CEO Leh to prepare school ranking at both zonal and district levels at primary, middle and high school levels. Through this ranking system, focus can be drawn on the weaker lot and work towards their betterment, he added.
He said that as a part of 2025 vision document, very soon a team of experts on local level will be appointed to form a separate educational policy and despite minor and major flaws in our system we have to work with extra effort and positive attitude and try every possible way to excel despite all odds and achieve better results this year as compared to last year.
