JAMMU, Aug 29: GDC Udhampur men and SPMR College of Commerce women lifted the title trophies in the Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here.
Prof M P Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu along with Jai Kumar, Special Secretary to the Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu distributed the trophies among the winners on the valedictory function.
Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education presided over the function.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ajaz Malik, Dr Ranjodh Singh, Sudesh Kumar Bhagat, Dr Yudhvir Singh, Principal, GCW Udhampur, Goutam Sharma, Vikesh Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia, P D Singh and Jai Bharat were present on the occasion.
Earlier, in men’s section, GDC Udhampur defeated GMC by (3-0). Ankit Sharma beat Pranav Mahajan by 11-9, 11-9, 11-5, Rohit Pal Singh defeated Tanveer Banday by 15-13, 12-10, 12-10 and Akashdeep beat Nasir Ali by 11-8, 11-9, 12-10, while in women’s section, SPMR College of Commerce beat GCW Udhampur by (3-0). Pariva beat Purvi Sharma by 11-9, 3-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-9, Aarya beat Parul Sharma by 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 and Simran drubbed Vinodita Kashyap by 11-5, 11-2, 11-8.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gourav Sharma, Amit Sharma, Sandeep Khadotra and Rekha Ratra.
The tournament was organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, under the supervision of its Director, Prof Dhian S Bhau.
