Tobacco merger under review

The FTC requested Camel brand cigarette maker Reynolds American (RAI) and Newport cigarette maker Lorillard (LO) to submit more information as part of its anti-trust review of the merger between the 2 tobacco giants. The companies announced the merger July 15, which would create the 2nd largest tobacco company in the U.S. behind No. 1 Altria Group (MO). Lorillard shares rose 0.6% to 59.70. Reynolds rose 0.8% to 58.47.
