Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has admitted that the club have contacted Paris Saint-Germain regarding the availability of striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Inter boss Walter Mazzarri is reportedly keen on linking up with Lavezzi again, having worked with the 29-year-old Argentina striker at Napoli, despite Lavezzi's far from impressive World Cup displays.

Thohir admits that while talks have been difficult, there is still a strong possiblity that a move could materialise in this transfer window.

"General director Marco Fassone and sports director Pietro Ausilio have spoke with Paris Saint-Germain," Thohir told Sport Mediaset.

"Now I will meet them and take stock of the situation.

"It's not been easy.

"The market is not closed yet.

"We are happy with the current squad, but in fotball you never know."
