Neo Geo classic Metal Slug 3 announced for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita

The classic arcade sidescroller Metal Slug 3 has been announced for PlayStation platforms.

The re-release promises a set of online features that "the PlayStation userbase and fans of the series truly deserve," though these features haven't been detailed yet. Further details will be shared in the coming months.

Metal Slug 3 will arrive on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita sometime this winter.

Metal Slug 3 is a run-and-gun game developed by SNK Playmore and first released for the Neo Geo arcade platform in 2000. It saw subsequent releases on PS2, Xbox, Xbox Live Arcade, PC, and mobile. IGN's review of the Xbox 360 version said Metal Slug 3 was fun, but didn't have much longevity.
