LPG blast kills two in Vijapur

Two persons, including a 26-year-old woman, were charred to death in fire caused by an LPG cylinder explosion in a house in Vijapur in Mehsana district on Thursday.

Palanpur: Two persons, including a 26-year-old woman, were charred to death in fire caused by an LPG cylinder explosion in a house in Vijapur in Mehsana district on Thursday.
The fire broke out when Neha Modi lighted the gas stove to prepare breakfast for her children. However, she was unaware about the leaking LPG cylinder.
The local fire fighters and neighbours made desperate attempts to rescue the woman but in vain.
A 30-year- old man Ketan Darji who risked his life to enter the smoke-filled house to rescue the woman also died due to suffocation.
However, two children and their grandmother, managed to come out safely, said police.
