‘Madamji will be a hard-hitting film’

“When Screen had asked me, I was not sure whether I could have gone through with it at that time. Also at first, I wanted to produce films that didn’t star me at all. But when Madhur came to me with Madamji, it seemed a great production, and I loved the story. Guess I had to do a film which was my maiden production venture,” says Chopra.
The actress goes on to say that the film is completely different from Fashion and something that she and the director wanted to do, if they came back together to make a film. “Like all Madhur’s films, Madamji will also be hard-hitting. While Fashion was about a model and her ambitions and dreams, this is about an item girl and her tryst with politics,” explains Chopra.
While in the past whenever Bhandarkar had approached her with roles, she could not be part of the projects due to various reasons, but according to the actor, they were roles that she had been very impressed with. “Madhur writes really well for me. We understand each other and speak each other’s language when it comes to creativity. So I am looking forward to setting up a production house and working with him again. I love movies and I hope I will be able to tell good stories,” said Chopra, very excited at the prospect.

Madamji takes off on November 1

Ram Mirchandani, who is the co-producer of the film said that Madamji takes off on November 1 and will be filmed in Bhopal, Delhi, Johanpur, Lucknow and Mumbai.
