TOKYO -- Nippon Telegraph and Telephone's share price on Thursday reached the 7,000 yen ($66) mark for the first time since July 2001, after adjusting for stock splits, thanks to increased shareholder returns and improved domestic profits.
The Japanese telecommunications company's price rose 2% on the day at one point to 7,041 yen and closed at 7,038 yen. Its market capitalization stood at more than 8 trillion yen, surpassing that of its subsidiary, mobile service provider NTT Docomo, for the first time since November.
