Dublin’s Ger Brennan has been ruled out of Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final with Ulster champions Donegal after failing to recover from an ankle injury.

The St Vincent's man suffered a setback in training and manager Jim Gavin will have to plan without the double All-Ireland winner, who has not featured for the Dubs this season.

Gavin said: "He just irritated his ankle again, unfortunately. He was back kicking the football. He was back playing again but he has irritated it again so he has been on ice for the last couple of days."

The game, which is live on RTÉ Two, throws in at 3.30pm at Croke Park.
