Theatre lovers in Gurgaon are all set for an evening of pure entertainment, with the staging of Madbeth this weekend. The Times of India and Behroopiya Entertainers present this Shakespearean tragedy, reinterpreted in a hilarious manner by Rupesh Tillu.
The play revolves around Beth and Banquo, who meet three witches, after which Beth tries his best to live up to all the prophesies with his imaginary friend Banquo. Together, they “narrate this murderous tale sincerely”, explain the organizers. The play has been staged in Europe, Israel and the West Bank as well as in India, and was invited by the UNESCO Centre for Peace to tour in the USA in 2012. The performance was also a special pick at the Stockholm Fringe Festival 2013.
The play will be shown at Epicentre, Gurgaon, on Saturday, August 30. To win complimentary invites to the shows, readers can SMS ‘TOIMAD
