I won't be careful with my shoulder - Tullow tank Sean O'Brien

The Tullow Tank has been warned of the chances of a recurrence of the shoulder injury which kept him out for most of last season but that won't stop him putting in the shuddering tackles and powerful ball carries he has become famous for.

"I won't be careful with my shoulder I can tell you and I've said this before," he said.

"Everyone says your shoulder will go again after it goes once.

"The operation was perfect. My shoulder has been as tight as it's ever been. It's strong and has given me any trouble since.

"I'll know in the next week or two whether it will flare up again.

"It's something I'm definitely not worried about."

O'Brien has been getting used to new scrum coach Marco Caputo and forwards coach Leo Cullen and admits that their integration into the setup has been seamless.

"New ideas, fresh approach. Marco is a very straight-talking coach. He knows what he wants and you would expect that," he added

"He works well with our squad. He's nice and sharp, the sessions are not too long.

"He just wants us to get technically right and get through our work.

"Everyone knows what Leo is like, he's a perfectionist. Leo's been very good and coming up with new ideas and drills.

"The two lads have settled in brilliantly."

Leinster will begin the defence of their Pro12 title against the Glasgow Warriors on September 6 at Scotsun.
