Wife of PGA caddie Bennett dies

The wife of Lance Bennett, longtime caddie for PGA Tour veteran Matt Kuchar, died suddenly Wednesday morning.

Angela Bennett, who suffered from epilepsy, is survived by her husband and their 4-year-old daughter.

All caddies are being asked to wear a black, logo-less hat in tribute to Angela Bennett for the first round of the Deutsche Bank Championship starting Friday. The tribute is pending PGA Tour approval and the hats are being paid for by The Association of Professional Tour Caddies.

"Angela was a cherished friend, a wonderful wife and a loving mother who made a major impact on all who were lucky enough to know her, and she will be greatly missed," Kuchar said in a statement.

Both Ryan Palmer's caddie James Edmonston and Scott Stallings' caddie Josh Graham are not working this week so they can be with Lance Bennett to support him in this difficult time. Edmonston and Graham are close friends of Bennett.

It was uncertain who would be on the bag for both Kuchar and Stallings this week outside Boston. Brett Waldman will caddie for Palmer.
