Should we say great minds think alike or sometimes referencing can get a tad too much? This time we found a lot of similarities in terms of silhouettes, prints and embroideries in some of designers' creations at Lakme Fashion Week. While etching out the springboard for inspiration, designers sometimes refer to an era in the fashion history or pay tribute to a legendary designer but sometimes the creations end up looking too similar. Here's the lowdown on some of the pieces which looked strikingly similar to some of international designers' last few season's offerings.

Embroidery: Sonaakshi Raaj
The embroidered jacket on the model looks very similar to designer Mary Katrantzou's ensemble.

Pleating: Papa don't preach

This pleated and knotted top from Papa Don't Preach reminds us of Buberry's Spring 2010 collection where pieces saw a lot of draping and pleating.

Colour blocking: Quirkbox

This multi-hued ensemble reminds us of designer Sabah Khan's Gen-next outing in 2010.

Print and jacket construction: Farah Sanjana

The white sheer jacket is very similar to designer Archana Rao's last Wills' show which was paired with a green sari. Also, the monochrome chandelier print looks similar to designer Payal Singhal's Charbagh collection showcased two seasons ago.

Silhouette: Ilk

Ilk showcased an off-shouldered gown with leggings which reminded us of Nikhil Thampi's Kerala-inspired collection showcased two seasons ago.
