lans for a monorail network, which will cover the Greater Bandung area, are close to being realized with the president director of the Panghegar Group, Cecep Rukmana, giving his assurances that a consortium has been formed to carry out the project.
'The consortium goes by the name, PT Jabar Moda Transportasi. But it must first be approved by the Transportation Ministry,' Cecep said on Wednesday.
The consortium is made up of PT Sarana Infrastruktur Indonesia, a Panghegar Group subsidiary; PT Jasa Sarana, a West Java provincial enterprise, and China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC), which is financing the project.
Making reference to the composition of shares, Cecep said the largest stakeholder was Jasa Sarana (80 percent), while Sarana Infrastruktur owned 20 percent.
'CMC will enter later by acquiring between 30 and 40 percent from Jasa Sarana,' he added.
The monorail, which is expected to reduce congestion across Greater Bandung, will have its main station located in Leuwi Panjang, on a site that currently houses a bus terminal.
The new station will be connected to Jatinangor in Sumedang regency, east of Bandung city; Soreang in Bandung regency, south of the city, and Padalarang in West Bandung regency, west of the city.
