Organisers of the forthcoming Intwasa Festival to run from September 23 to 27 in Bulawayo have brought back the “Battle of the DJs” slot.
The show will be held on September 26 at the City Hall Car Park.
Director of the festival Raisedon Baya said the best of Bulawayo’s spin masters are expected to take part in the competition.
“This year’s edition is unique in that the top DJs from the previous edition battles will all feature with appearances also from The Lounge resident DJs where all Intwasa after-parties are scheduled to take place,” he said.

Baya said the list is yet to be finalised and names will be known soon.
“The full list of the DJs taking part next month is still to be finalised but a possibility of having the finalists in a battle for the ultimate prize is befitting of a 10th anniversary celebration,” he said.

The festival will be running under the theme “Unforgettable”.
The slot began in 2012 with a list of top club DJs.

Previous winners of the battle of the DJs include Mzoe, Black Cee and Mellow.
Intwasa which started in 2005 as a community arts festival has grown to become the one of the biggest arts event in Zimbabwe.

To date, Intwasa has hosted regional and international artistes from Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, United States of America, UK, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Wales and Zambia.
